Pray, Love, Eat

The praying mantis is a symbol of stillness, a master of patience and mindful action. hidden behind her poise and elegance, however, is a powerful force. Once she is done with her lover, he becomes her postcoital snack. She is brutal.

This vicious lady has been entirely hand fabricated using recycled and reclaimed sterling silver. Using melting, fusing and soldering techniques, this was one of my most challenging projects yet. She can be worn as a lapel pin, or enjoyed as an object.
